Social Media Overload?

There’s also some value in joining online networking groups that are focused on a particular geographic area, adds Mashable’s Ostrow.

He recommends using Meetup.com to find out about groups in your area. Just put in your topic of interest and zip code, and you can find out about networking opportunities in your town.

One of my favorites is TwitterLocal.net. With it, you plugin in your zipcode and select a radius to discover other twitter.com users near you. It’s a great tool for building a regional social network.

Researching and trying out all the new social networking sites can easily lead you down the rabbit hole… fast. Networking locally is a full time job in itself. George, you are truly one of the masters of the game… how do you balance it all out? Thanks!
